Trusted Contact Person

BAC Community Bank is one of a handful of California banks that provides accountholders the option to appoint a Trusted Contact Person, or TCP.  This person is an individual you authorize BAC to contact in specific situations to help protect your financial accounts. They can be a family member, friend, or any trusted individual who you believe can act in your best interest.

In an age of increasing financial fraud, a trusted contact can help safeguard against nefarious actions that could jeopardize your financial well-being. Naming a Trusted Contact Person adds another layer of protection for your personal assets if something unexpected happens in your life. It adds an additional level of security to your account, and there is no cost for this service.

Financial Institutions often serve as the first line of defense when it comes to cases of possible financial exploitation. A Trusted Contact Person is another resource to help protect you against financial abuse or scams.  A TCP cannot access your account information or perform transactions on your accounts, but is someone who can help BAC reach you or confirm your status in an unexpected situation.

A Trusted Contact Person is not the same as someone who acts as a representative under a Power of Attorney (POA). It may be beneficial to identify someone who is not already named as a POA and who has no access to your accounts.  

If BAC cannot reach you, adding a Trusted Contact Person to your account may help ensure that your current address and contact information are correct. If we suspect that you are experiencing a health issue, it may help to designate a contact to confirm your current health status.

Here is a list of Personal accounts currently available through this feature:

Simply log in to Online Banking or Mobile Banking and click the “Open A New Account” button to have a new Personal account opened in minutes.

Will This Update Affect My Account Access?

No. Once the updated Bill Pay user experience is live, you can simply log into Personal Online Banking or Personal Mobile Banking using your same credentials to see what’s new. You’ll find all of your past Bill Pay history, payee information, and scheduled payments in place and ready to use.
